Project Overview

Florentin Bakery contacted Kamanel Consulting LLC to address persistent network slowdowns and recurring connectivity problems at its Hollywood, Florida location. Kamanel investigated the existing infrastructure and completed an initial network repair and stabilization using a Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Ultra and a new USW-24-PoE switch. Rack relocation and site rewiring remain pending.

Client Challenge

The bakery reported slow network performance and frequent connectivity issues. Of eleven existing surveillance cameras, only nine were working at the time of the assessment. The equipment rack was located in the kitchen, with a relocation to a more open space outside the kitchen recommended as a follow-up improvement.

Network Assessment

Kamanel identified multiple unmanaged switches and network loops contributing to instability. The immediate priority was to address the network problems and improve connectivity while planning the remaining physical infrastructure work.

Network Repair & Managed Switching

Kamanel addressed the network loops and deployed a new Ubiquiti USW-24-PoE managed switch. A Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Ultra was installed to provide routing, firewall controls and centralized network administration.

Network Segmentation & Firewall Controls

The network was segmented to separate point-of-sale systems from guest and employee access. Firewall controls were configured to manage traffic between the network segments and protect business-critical devices.

Existing Camera System

The initial assessment documented eleven existing cameras, with nine operational. This case study describes the network remediation; restoration of the two offline cameras is not recorded as a completed outcome.

Pending Infrastructure Work

Rack relocation to a more open space outside the kitchen and rewiring of the site remain pending. The after photo shows the initial network fix within the existing rack location, before these recommended physical improvements.
